It gotten its  license from thr Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), that was in 1989 and it began to feature in the Nigerian Stock Exchange since the year, 1998. It acquired former Intercontinental Bank in 2012.

2. Diamond Bank Plc

Diamond Bank actually started sometimes, as a private limited liability company in 1991 after its registration in 1990, and after that, became a universal bank in 2001, and was listed on The Nigerian Stock Exchange in May 2005.
