Even at that, technology in Nigeria cannot just be improved by itself, and it does not stand on itself alone, technology needs to be improved, however, by having some inputs from other sectors in Nigeria. Look at it from this perspective, for technology to be improved in Nigeria, many factors have to come to play.

In other words, many of the other sectors would have also improved. For instance, the Power sector. The power sector needs improvement first before the Nigerian technology can be improved.

Nigerian educational sector also needs improvement among other sectors. Having said all of these, I will in this article, be discussing some of those things we needed to embrace in order to improve technology in Nigeria.

Besides, if Nigerian government will love to take much of what I am going to discuss in this article into consideration with a view to improving technology in Nigeria, then technology in Nigeria would be improved and Nigerians would see how Nigeria would become a better nation for investors. 1. An Improved Learning Environment Should Be Created Nigerian Children

These are the best brains needed to push for innovations and for inventions in Nigeria. Nigeria must discourage a kind of educational system that bases its education syllabus on an outdated or ancient syllabus.

Once such important sector is improving, I mean the educational sector, the Nigerian industrial sector would be improved because the educational sector would be producing best and brilliant brains into the industrial sector, and these are individuals, who would be pushing for inventions and innovations hence, technology would be improved in Nigeria. Think about this.

2. Nigerians Need To Invest In Themselves

This is very important! Nigerians investing in themselves is one of the possible means of improving technology in Nigeria.

Having created an immersive learning environment, Nigerians must then be ready to invest in themselves so that through their reservoirs of knowledge, Nigeria can improve its technology.

So there should be an improvement in the process of learning. Finding has, however, revealed that many of the Nigerian people who are presently in the technology sector in Nigeria are individuals, who have gained knowledge through personal development program or who are self-taught.

That is why without adequate learning process, which of course, takes a huge amount of will, this will slows down the progress of improving technology in Nigeria.

Let us not forget that new knowledge and skills are not learned so quickly. However, If Nigeria will improve on the learning process, and also patronize Nigerian local content, Nigeria will be in its way towards improving technology.

3. Government Must Recognizes The Important Of Technological Advancement And Make Policies Towards That

Any government that realizes the importance and the need for technological improvement will always take realistic actions, with reliable policies towards achieving that objective.

For instance, for Nigeria to improve technology in Nigeria, the Nigerian government must, first of all, understands or recognizes the need for technological advancement in Nigeria.

The government must make sure that it makes policies that are consistent towards the achievement of technological improvement in Nigeria.

A good amount of funds must be allotted to education. For example, courses, such as Science, and Technology, and Engineering, as well as Mathematics, should attract more funds.

The federal government should encourage Nigerians into studying such courses by launching incentives packages with a view to attract citizens into studying these courses and become proficient as possible in those areas of studies.

4. Private Sector And Government Must In Synergy Give Scholarships To Exceptional Students

Scholarships must be given to students who performed exceptionally in their academic pursuits. Such academic incentives can spur students to perform well in their educational pursuit, particularly in the area, such as technology, engineering, mathematics, sciences among other of such courses that will help in improving technology in Nigeria.

It is the duties of both the private sector and the Nigerian government to encourage students to study those course named above by sponsoring the students or giving them scholarships to study those courses.

Even if it will cost the Nigerian government and the private sector to sponsor these exceptional brains to study outside Nigeria, it would be my humble suggestion.

This to me is imperative, the reason is obvious. The technological capacity and the ability of the current crop of professors in the Nigerian universities and colleges is grossly limited.

5. Irrespective Of Any Discipline, Nigerian Students Should Be Motivated To Aspire To High Technological Competence

You see, no matter the course of study, Nigerian students should be motivated to aspire high in their academic endeavours.

The Nigerian students should be encouraged to aspire to high technological competence if the government is willing to improve technology in Nigeria.

I must confess at this point that this is a challenge, given the fact that, the majority of Nigerian students are limited regarding the technological capacity that is available to them.

More importantly, too, Nigerian student’s mindsets also need improvement, yes their mindsets need to be improved, if they must push for the innovations and inventions Nigeria is yearning for in order to improve its technology.

Besides the Nigerian students, Nigerian leaders also must make decisions to change their mindsets, as well as, ensuring that, corruption in Nigeria is eradicated to give way for prosperity.

For instance, the Power sector. The power sector needs improvement first before the Nigerian technology can be improved. Nigerian educational sector also needs improvement among other sectors.
