2. You are a Nigerian citizen that hold a Nigerian passport, and were beforehand issued a full validity visa (ex: 24 months for B1/B2).

3. You are a long-term resident of Nigeria with a different nationality who previously received a full-validity U.S. visa (Note: length of validity is dependent on nationality and category of visa).

You Are Not Eligible For US Visa Renewal If:

a. You are applying for a US visa for the first time.

b. Your visa expired more than 12 months ago.

c. Your visa was cancelled or revoked.

d. You wish to apply for a visa in a different category other than you currently hold.

e. You need to apply for skilled work Visas.

f. Your passport is expired while carrying a valid US visa.

g. You need to apply for more than one category of visa at the same time.

a. A Valid Passport: You can provide any expired passport that contains your expired visa at the Embassy/Consulate General on the day of your appointment.

You can now easily renew your US Visa without having to attend an interview, because of the newly introduced Dropbox Visa Renewal service. The service is however only available for those holding B1/B2 Visa holders, F, H and L visas.

To apply for U.S Visa Renewal, simply

1. Go to any GTB bank nearest to you and pay the applicable Machine Readable Visa fees for the type of Visa you want to renew.

2. Visit the US embassy website to fill the DS-160 Visa application form.

3. Download and print the application confirmation page. Ensure you keep your receipt and the confirmation page print-out safe.

4. Visit the CGI Visa appointment website for the US mission to Nigeria and click on the “Apply Now” button on top right side of the screen.

5. Answer all the questions correctly, and if you are lucky to qualify you would be able to print out an application confirmation sheet with details of when to submit your application to the DHL facilities located in Abuja or Lagos.

6. Select your ideal pick-up location for your passport in case you qualify and your visa would be returned to preferred location within 7 to 10 business days.
