High-Density: This type of waterproof has more strength and it is more versatile and durable. The demand for this type of waterproof is high and it is mainly used for packaging, disposals, and garbage.

Low-Density: This is mainly used for wrapping food, bread, water sealing, etc. It can as well be used for packaging clothes.

Waterproof Production Steps

Step 1: The basic raw material being used in waterproof production is called B.A.S.F. It can also be called Escorene or Dow.

Pour the raw material (B.A.S.F) into the heating and melting unit of the Extruder Blowing Machine. From this stage, the raw material is transformed into a liquid state.

Step 2: At this stage, the B.A.S.F that is already in a liquid state is blown under pressure through a particular medium. After blowing, it cools and polythene sheets are formed out of it.

At this stage also, Master Berg can be applied, which helps to add colors so you can have different colors of waterproof.

Step 3: In stage 3, the polythene sheets are converted to bales, which is the state that can go through the process of cutting and sealing.

Step 4: This is the final stage in the waterproof production. In this last step, the process of cutting the bales and sealing it into appropriate shape takes place. It is at this stage you can use Nylon Cutting Machine to cut the waterproof into different sizes you wish to have.

You can also use the Printing Machine at this stage to give different designs to the waterproof. Punching Machine can as well be used here to give holes to the waterproof. The essence of this is to create places that would serve as the handle.

Things to consider before you venture into waterproof production in Nigeria

1. Get your business registered

You need to register your waterproof production business with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) before you start production.

This is ideal as it covers and protects you from unforeseen circumstances. It also frees you from disturbances from outside people and helps to promote your business.

2. Get the capital for the waterproof production

You need to set the capital for the business aside. The amount depends on the size you want to start producing. If you do not have enough money at hand to start up, you can consider getting a loan from the bank but ensure you don’t start spending from it so that you don’t run into a loss.

3. Get to learn everything you need to know

Experience is the best teacher. Go round and acquire all you need before you start up your own. Meet those that have been in the business before you and hear their stories.

Know their ups and downs and build yourself from what you get from them. You can as well take out time to attend seminars and workshops on waterproof production.

4. Conduct Market Survey

Go around where you want to start the waterproof production and ask people around about their businesses. This will enable you to determine the people to target in your waterproof production.

If people there are mainly bread sellers and clothe sellers and you venture into high-density waterproof production, definitely you will lose in the business because such people use low-density waterproof. So conduct your survey first and find out your target audience before you start the waterproof production.

Look for areas that will need the waterproof and start your production there. Areas where they have pharmacies, water production companies, eateries, hospitals, supermarkets, etc. are good places to start your waterproof production.

5. Get a good land that is spacious

You should be able to get a place that will carry all the equipment you would need for the waterproof production. Also, consider the source of the raw materials and other things you need from the market so that you will not spend so much on transportation.
