2023 Presidency: Southern Govs’ demand is a sign of weakness -Tafewa Balewa’s son

The first son of Sir Tafawa Balewa, Abubakar Billy has said that the demand by Southern Governors that power “must” zone to the South in 2023 is a “weakness” on the part of the politicians in the region.

According to him, the 2023 Presidency must be obtained by the aspirant with a national appeal, regardless of which part of the ethnic group he is from. Information Guide Nigeria

He made this known yesterday when interviewed on Channels Television. 

As reported by The Punch, in his words: “To me, this issue of rotation is pure politics. In Nigeria, we have lots of other issues that we should be concerned about than the Presidency.

“ Like the Northern Governors have said, there is nowhere in the constitution that says there is a rotation. This rotation is a gentlemen’s agreement and I do agree with it; I totally agree with it but it is not given on a platter.

“We need to see people who are proactive, people who have the capacity, the capability to lead this country coming to my area to seek my votes (but) what is happening today is a shame – Northern Governors, Southern Governors would meet and say you must give Presidency to this zone and that. jamb results
