Rivers State Governor and Elders Head to Abuja Amidst Political Crisis

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, and some elders of the state jetted to Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, on Tuesday morning for possible reconciliation of the crisis that rocked the State House of Assembly and the move to impeach the governor.

Our correspondent, who was in Government House on Monday evening, saw the elders arrive, and were immediately ushered into the brick house, the governor’s official residence in the stated seat of power, in an apparent move to reconcile the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and his political godson, Fubara.
