GOOD NEWS: Oyetola Approves N708m For Pension Arrears

The governor of Osun State,  Gboyega Oyetola has approved the sum of N708 million for the payment of pension arrears of retirees in the state. Information Guide Nigeria
THE GUARDIAN reports, this was disclosed in a statement issued by the Head of Service of the state, Dr Festus Oyebade, on Monday in Osogbo, Osun State.

According to Oyebade, N508 million has been approved for the payment of retirees under the old pension scheme, while N150 million has been approved for the payment of selected retirees “based on merit” under the contributory pension scheme.

As reported by THE GUARDIAN, the head of service said N50 million was approved to offset part of the gratuities of retirees under the old pensions scheme.

The head of Service added that the present administration was committed to the welfare of retirees and efforts have been put in place to give workers the pride of place they deserve.
