NYSC Exemption Letter Eligibility

To be eligible for the NYSC certificate of exemption, you must first meet the following criteria:How to log in JAMB Portal

  1. Applicants must be full-time students older than the age of 30 years at the time of graduation. Or,
  2. Applicants must be Part-time students. Or,
  3. Applicants must have served in the Nigerian Armed forces for more than 9 months. Or,
  4. Applicants must have received a national award like the ”Order of the Niger” or other national awards.

How to Apply and Print the NYSC Exemption Letter

To print your NYSC Exemption Letter (certificate of exemption) follow the instructions below:Npower recruitment

  1. Visit the nearest National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) State Secretariat
  2. Upon getting there, let the attendant know you wish to apply for the NYSC exemption letter
  3. An application form for the NYSC exemption letter will be issued to you from the relevant department
  4. Fill the application form issued to you with your correct details and attest it with your signature
  5. Attach the required documents needed to obtain the exemption letter. The documents required include:
    1. Completed application form
    2. Documents showing academic qualifications
    3. Approved result
    4. Applicants identity document
    5. Supporting documents (as instructed)
  6. Now submit the application form with the attached documents to the NYSC official present
  7. You will be required to make a payment as directed by the officials
  8. After making the payment, your application will be submitted and forwarded for verification and validation
  9. Your application will be approved once the validation and verification process has been completed.
  10. You will be notified once your Exemption letter is ready to be collected. However, you will be required to collect the certificate from your tertiary institution.WAEC result

How to Apply and Print the NYSC Exemption Letter for NOUN Graduates

Graduates of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) are allowed to apply for the NYSC exemption. Follow the procedures below to print your NYSC exemption letter:

  1. Visit the official NYSC portal via Https://portal.nysc.org.ng
  2. Click on “Check senate list or it’s equivalents” to confirm if your name is on the list
  3. Now return back to the NYSC homepage to continue the procedure
  4. Click on “Mobilization Batch” icon
  5. Click on “Fresh Registration” and you will be redirected to a new page where you’ll be able to initiate the account creation
  6. Enter the required details into the spaces made available and click on “ Continue”
  7. You will be required to verify your email address
  8. Click on the link sent your mail to confirm email address and continue with the NYSC account creation/registration
  9. Enter the required details into the spaces made available and click on “submit and continue” (click on Part-time to ignore JAMB regularization no.)
  10. You will be required to make payment for the procedure. Select your preferred method on the portal to continue
  11. Make the required payment to continue. The required payment is usually less than N3,000
  12. Now check your NYSC dashboard to see if your exemption letter has been made available for immediate printing. If not, you can check after a few days, then make the printoutJAMB Result
