Mitrovic has been ruled out of Fulham’s final Premier League match before the World Cup and is a significant question to be fit for the tournament’s first match, according to Serbia’s Politika.
According to the report, Mitrovic sustained the injury in September while on international duty with Serbia, and medical testing has revealed that the attacker has two broken bones in his foot.
Aleksandar Mitrovic is currently in a battle against time to recover in time for Serbia’s World Cup opener against Brazil.
Mitrovic is presently receiving treatment in Belgrade, and Serbia is confident that the Fulham forward will be available for their second Group G match.
The World Cup for Serbia begins on November 24 against Brazil, followed by Cameroon on November 28 and Switzerland on December 2.
