As early as 9 a.m., local disc jockeys and drummers were spotted entertaining party supporters who had entered the stadium wearing colorful ‘aso ebi bearing the portraits of the APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, and his running mate, Senator Kassim Shettima.

Aso ebi is a traditional Nigerian and West African garment worn at rituals and celebrations as a sign of cooperation and togetherness.

Some members of the local organizing committee were also observed performing the last assessment of the venue’s decorations.

This development occurred less than twenty-four hours after the National Broadcasting Commission fined Arise News and Channels Television N5 million for broadcasting a supposedly fake” statement attributed to the Independent National Electoral Commission.

When contacted, Bayo Onanuga, the Director of Media and Publicity for the PCC, told our correspondent that Tinubu’s maiden rally would be launched in Jos with a festival-like event.

Onanuga further informed that practically all PCC members, the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (ret.), members of the Progressive Governors Forum, and the APC women’s campaign team would be present at the gathering.

Reacting to the heavy presence of security operatives at the venue, Onanuga said “it is normal.”

He said, “The local organising committee is fully in charge. We are just going there as guests. In all our engagements so far, the committee in each state is always responsible for arrangements including security.

“Don’t forget, the president is coming too because this is the first rally we are having. But you are aware we have been campaigning before now. This is the very festival of the campaign.WAEC Result

“All of us in the PCC directorates are going there in our aso ebi including the women campaign team,” he said.

Additionally, Onanuga mentioned that the rally would be broadcast live on major television and radio networks.
