
ASUU STRIKE: FG Gets Tuesday Ultimatum
The Academic Staff Union of Universities has revealed its intention to embark on another strike if the Government fails to honour its own part of the agreement signed with the union last year.
This was made known in a press briefing by Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke – the president of the Union, who further revealed that the union finds it difficult to communicate with FG via phone calls. Information Guides Nigeria

He said, “The government has refused to reach out to us. Government officials have stopped. In fact, they don’t take our calls again. Nigerians should tell the government to do what they agreed to do.
“We signed an agreement and even in May, we reached a final agreement; this is August and nothing has been implemented. Does it make any sense? We are giving them till the end of August and after that, we start the procedures.” dollar to naira rate
Recalled that ASUU decided to suspend the last industrial action in March 2020 after the FG agreed to sign the agreement aimed at settling some of the demands of the union particularly on funding of universities in the country and the irregularities around the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) and others.
The Union has however given the FG till 31st of August (Tuesday) to fulfill its promises or it will activate the striking clause. JAMB Result
