Arsenal‘s chances of acquiring Griezmann currently appear to be rapidly receding, so their tenacity appears to have paid off.
According to L’Equipe, Atlético Madrid and Barcelona are close to finding an agreement which will see that £35m sum lowered to €25m (£22m) – a sum Simeone is happy to pay.
Now, Griezmann is expected to start games from the first minute, with Atlético Madrid happy to trigger a £22m option.
Griezmann, in our opinion, was far from being a deliberate target like Gabriel Jesus and was only a last-minute replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
