BREAKING: Drama As Lawmakers Impeach Imo State Speaker

The speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Paul Emeziem has been impeached by the Imo State House of Assembly.

In a report filed by CHANNELS TV,  Rt. Hon. Paul Emeziem was impeached on Monday during a plenary session at the State House of Assembly in Owerri the Imo state capital by 19 lawmakers.

CHANNELS TV reports that out of the total 27 lawmakers in the state,19 lawmakers signed a letter that was read on the floor of the house.

The 19 lawmakers revealed that the speaker was impeached over allegations of forgery, abuse of office, gross misconduct, and high-handedness.Information Guide Nigeria

According to DAILY POST, the impeached Deputy Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, Amara Iwuanyanwu purportedly stormed the state house with six lawmakers and some security personnel to impeach the Speaker.

Recall that the house has recently been in crisis involving the deputy speaker of the House, Amara Iwuanyanwu.

According to CHANNELS TV, the member representing Obowo State Constituency, Kennedy Ibe has been appointed as the new speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly.JAMB Result
