Breaking: FG Flags off Commencement of N-Power Batch C; See Details.

The Federal Government of Nigeria has inaugurated 510,000 N-Power ‘Batch C stream 1’. This was confirmed on Monday, by Sadiya Farouq, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development.infoguidenigeria

Four hundred and fifty thousand graduates will receive N30,000 each month, according to the Minister:

“Today, we are here to inaugurate the N-Power Batch C1. The N-Power graduate volunteers are entitled to a monthly stipend of N30,000 for a period of one year. The non-graduate beneficiaries are entitled to N10,000 monthly stipends for a period of nine months,” revealed Ms Farouq. “All beneficiaries are granted an appropriate starter pack for their trade to enable them to start their businesses in their chosen trades. By the special grace of God, I hereby flag-off the N-Power Batch C1 for the 36 States and FCT.”

She also disclosed that one of the aims of the Ministry is to achieve the objectives of NSIP (the National Social Intervention Programmes strategic objectives). Still, on the subject, The Minister of Information-Lai Mohammed while helping youths to acquire and enhance their skills.

In his words:

Also speaking, information minister Lai Mohammed stated, “It avails the Nigerian youths the opportunity to acquire skills, to enhance their lives, and even create employment for others. I have no doubt that the lessons learnt in Batch A and B would be brought to bear in Batch C to achieve President Muhammadu’s Buhari vision of lifting 100 million Nigerians out of poverty.”

The Minister of  Humanitarian affairs further reveals that “over 750,000 applications were received, out of which, 200,000 beneficiaries were screened and selected into the first batch called Batch A”.

She further poured out encomium on President Muhammadu Buhari for his efforts in combating poverty in all ramifications, she said: “Permit me at this juncture to thank His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari for his administration’s unwavering efforts in eradicating poverty in our country and for supporting and sustaining the National Social Investment Programme. With the creation of the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and the relocation of the NSIP from the OVP to the Ministry, it is worthy to note that Mr. President recognized the creativity and impact of the NPower and has graciously approved the expansion of the programme from 500,000 to 1,000,000 beneficiaries, to enable more young people to benefit.
