In August 2021, Brighton stole Cucurella away from Getafe and took him to England. The 24-year-old went on to have a great first season in the Premier League. He played 38 times for Brighton in all competitions, helping the team finish ninth in the league.NYSC portal
Cucurella, who has one Spain cap to his name, signed a six-year deal with the Blues in west London on the eve of the new season. He made his Blues debut against Everton the next day under former manager Thomas Tuchel.
The player has kept his starting spot at Stamford Bridge under ex-Brighton coach Graham Potter, who brought him to England in the first place. He has made 24 appearances so far this season. But he hasn’t been as good as he was last season.
