Chelsea make Barcelona two transfer proposals after Xavi enquiry

Chelsea have openly discussed the possibility of selling Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner to Barcelona, according to reports in Spain. infoguidenigeria

Barca are embarking on a new era under Xavi and are exploring the market for potential signings in 2022.

According to a report by mirror.co, the Spanish giants are desperate to bolster their new manager’s squad following the departure of Ronald Koeman but have to work under financial constraints.

It would be important to note that Barcelona made a loss of £404million (€481m) in the last financial year and have debts and future liabilities totalling £1.14bn (€1.35bn).

The report has it that the fresh line of communication has seen the Blues bring up the names of Ziyech and Werner, who they are open to selling for the right price.

The departure of Ziyech to Barca is reportedly the option that suits both parties best, but a deal for Werner is not being ruled out either at this early stage.

Ziyech agreed to sign for Chelsea in February 2020 and eventually moved from Ajax to west London for a fee of £33.4m (€40m) in the summer.

The Moroccan winger has shown flashes of his talent, contributing seven goals and eight assists in 52 appearances for the club, but injuries have hampered his progression.
