Chelsea owner Todd Boehly steps down for role

Todd Boehly, a co-owner of Chelsea, has stepped down from his interim job as the club’s sporting director, which he took on in June 2022.Information Guide Nigeria

The American has overseen the spending of around £350 million ($426.5 million) on players, including recent January purchases, but The Telegraph says that Boehly has opted to step down and take over Chelsea’s recruitment strategy to recent recruits Christopher Vivell and Paul Winstanley.NYSC portal

Boehly hired Vivell, formerly of RB Leipzig, as the club’s new technical director in December, filling the role left vacant by Cech in the summer. Winstanley was named the club’s director of global talent and transfers in November, and it is expected that the pair will oversee the Blues’ business for the remainder of the January transfer window and beyond.
