Lagos Govt Seals School Over Flogging Of Student

The Government of Lagos State has sealed Unic Vilos Montessori School, Maza Maza, over the flogging of a two-year-old, Cherish Ohamadike.Information Guide Nigeria

According to CHANNELS TV, the teacher who inflicted marks on her back has been identified as Miss Joy Igile.

The Lagos State Commissioner for Education, Folashade Adefisayo, while speaking on Channels Television said the case is within the context of informal education because the victim is a toddler.

Folashade Adefisayo said the ministry ordered the closure of the school after confirming the story adding that Unic Vilos Montessori School operates without approval.

According to CHANNELS TV, the mother of the victim, Faustina Ohamadike, revealed that the perpetrator threatened her adding that she decided to share her daughter’s story online.

Faustina Ohamadike confirmed that the teacher and proprietress of the school were arrested on Monday by the Lagos State Ministry of Justice, the Domestic Violence and Response Unit, and the Ministry of Youths and Social Development.Jamb Result

Cherish’s family has demanded for justice as the alleged perpetrator has now been charged to court.
