Mercedes-Benz to introduce acceleration subscription fee
Mercedes-Benz will offer an online subscription service to accelerate its electric vehicles in the United States.
For an annual fee of $1,200 (£991) minus tax, the corporation will enable some of its vehicles to accelerate from zero to sixty miles per hour one second faster.Information Guide Nigeria

Mercedes has stated to BBC News that it has no present plans to implement “Acceleration Increase” in the United Kingdom.
It will be available for purchase in the United States on the Mercedes-EQ EQE 350, EQS 450, and their SUV equivalents.

A Mercedes-EQ 350 SUV can now accelerate from 0-60 mph in around 5.2 seconds, as opposed to 6.2 seconds without the subscription.
Jack McKeown, head of the Association of Scottish Motoring Writers and motoring editor of the Courier in Dundee, described the new Mercedes feature as “unsurprising yet disheartening.”JAMB portal
“When you pay a monthly subscription for a phone or for broadband, you’re paying for the company to supply and maintain a data network,” he said.

“Trying to leverage even more profit out of subscription services is a worrying trend and I hope there is a consumer backlash against it.”
In July, BMW received criticism after announcing that consumers could pay £25 per month to unlock heated seats and steering wheels.
In addition, Toyota stated in December 2021 that it will charge select drivers $8 per month to remotely start their vehicles using a key fob.
In 2019, Tesla unveiled “Acceleration Boost,” which for a one-time cost of $2,000 makes Model 3 vehicles accelerate from 0-60 mph 0.5 seconds faster.
On the US Mercedes storefront, the Acceleration Increase subscription is described as “coming soon” with no particular release date.JAMB Result
