Africa Youth Growth Foundation (AYGF) is recruiting suitably qualified candidates to fill the following positions below:

1.) Executive Assistant to the Executive Director

Location: Abuja (FCT)

Minimum Qualifications
Education:

  • Degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • (Additional professional-level administrative services or social service experience may be an added advantage)

Experience:

  • The equivalent to five years of full-time in a similar capacity, professional-level administrative or managerial experience, preferably in an NGO service delivery setting.

Ideal Candidates will possess the following Knowledge & Abilities:
Knowledge of:

  • Advanced user of Microsoft Office Suite
  • High level of attention to detail with demonstrated ability to show initiative and creativity in problem-solving
  • Advanced organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and telephone manner
  • Demonstrated experience with complex travel management
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and set priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a large and varied workload and maintain motivation under pressure

Ability to:

  • Plan and conduct complex and sensitive administrative and operational studies.
  • Identify management and operational problems, investigate and evaluate alternatives and implement effective solutions.

2.) Resource Mobilization Officer 1

Location: Sokoto

Key Responsibilities

  • Resource mobilization strategy and systems development
  • Developing and maintaining a current understanding of AYGF’s programs.
  • Anchoring on AYGF’s institutional resource mobilisation strategy, assist in the design, implementation and coordination of an institution-wide, comprehensive donor relations and stewardship system that fosters positive and mutually rewarding relations between AYGF and its donors.
  • Contribute to and review AYGF’s strategy documents and knowledge management products to help best position the institution for resource mobilisation.

Donor cultivation:

  • Under the guidance of the Human Resource unit, take initiatives to expand AYGF’s current donor base, through effective stewardship and new funding opportunities as may be developed to grow donor support for AYGF
  • Working with other Resource Mobilisation Officers, develop concept notes, proposals and budgets which drive the achievement of AYGF’s strategic plan and align with both AYGF and donor priorities.
  • Prospecting bilateral, multilateral, philanthropic, and private sector partners and translating partnership opportunity into both funds and leverage in furtherance of program and resource targets.
  • Provide other support as required in the implementation of the Resource Mobilisation Strategy.

Donor management:

  • Establish and maintain strong relations with a portfolio of donors as a foundation for resource mobilisation efforts. Includes gathering intelligence and analyzing key trends in individual donor policies and plans vis-à-vis AYGF;
  • Organize briefings, meetings, visits and events with current and prospective donors, coordinate programmatic and logistical arrangements, draft reports and set action plans for follow-up;
  • Respond to internal and prepare response to external queries regarding donor contributions;
  • Support teams to ensure compliance on donor and AYGF requirements, including ensuring timely and quality reporting
  • Leadership support and external engagement
  • Have regular communication with donors, prospective and established, while working closely with AYGF’s Communication Unit to coordinate inputs to external events and opportunities
  • Support the Chief of party in identifying representational events with the potential for meaningful donor interaction. Provide proactive and timely advice to senior management on strategic interaction with individual donors.
  • Represent AYGF at external forums and meetings on occasion to position the institution with donors and partners critical to achieving AYGF’s strategy.

Requirements

  • Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree qualification with 3 – 5 years work experience.

Salary
N100,000 – N120,000 / month.

3.) Resource Mobilization Intern

Location: Sokoto

Job Description

  • Develop and implement a Resource Mobilization Strategy;
  • Manage the resource mobilization functions by monitoring and reporting on the Resource Mobilization Strategy implementation;
  • Conduct an environmental scan and provide donor intelligence (thematic orientations, modalities of engagement, entry points, forecasts etc.) to the Executive Director and the Research Directors to increase probability of attracting funds;
  • Spearhead proposal development efforts ensuring efficient coordination with teams and the submission of high quality grant proposals;
  • Develop and/or enhance resource mobilization tools as needed;
  • Maintain and extend the system in place for identification and response to calls for proposals;
  • Continually seek innovative means of attracting new donors;
  • Monitor and maintain the proposal pipeline and generate monthly reports for management’s strategic decisions;
  • In collaboration with the communications team, engage in organizational brand building including development of collateral materials to support fundraising efforts, such as brochures;
  • Maintain the donor database in place to ensure it is an up-to-date and dynamic document and share its contents systematically with the Executive Director and the Research Directors;
  • Develop generic templates for quick response to calls where donors do not provide templates;
  • Document various meetings with donors, monitor required action and accompany the Executive Director to meetings with donors, as required;
  • Engage in donor relationship management to ensure donor retention and upgrades while capturing new development partners;
  • Identify and cultivate relations with strategic implementing partners for prospective consortium style initiatives;
  • Represent AYGF at key strategic forums both locally and internationally, as required;
  • Build the capacity of AYGF staff, board and partners on resource mobilization, as required.

4.) Office Assistant

Location: Sokoto

Job Description

  • Provide comprehensive assistance to ensure the efficient functioning of the office.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized office environment. This includes managing office supplies, restocking as necessary, and ensuring all workspaces are clean and presentable.
  • Collaborate with the facilities team to address any maintenance or repair needs.
  • Greet visitors and clients in a professional and welcoming manner. Ensure visitors are properly signed in and directed to the appropriate personnel or meeting locations.
  • Coordinate meetings, conferences, and appointments by arranging necessary equipment or resources, and distributing relevant materials.

Requirements

5.) Head of Project Delivery

Location: Abuja

Responsibilities
Program Design and Development:

  • Lead the development of project plans, timelines, and budgets in collaboration with program teams and relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure the timely and efficient implementation of projects, adhering to project milestones and deliverables in both the national and state offices.

Monitoring and Evaluation:

  • Establish robust monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to track project progress and outcomes effectively.
  • Conduct regular project monitoring visits, collect data, and analyze results to identify areas for improvement and impact assessment.

Proposal and Grant Writing:

  • Develop compelling and well-structured grant proposals that clearly articulate the program’s objectives, methodologies, expected outcomes, and budget requirements.
  • Tailor proposals to meet the specific requirements of different funders while maintaining consistency with the AYGF’s mission and goals

Technical Guidance and Support:

  • Serve as a technical expert and advisor to project teams, providing guidance on best practices, methodologies, and innovative approaches.
  • Support project teams in overcoming challenges and ensuring the quality and relevance of project interventions.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with project partners, donors, government agencies, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and facilitate regular meetings with stakeholders to provide updates on project progress and discuss collaboration opportunities.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Prepare and submit comprehensive and timely project reports to donors, management, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including project files, databases, and records.

Capacity Building:

  • Identify capacity-building needs of project staff and partners and design training initiatives to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Budget Management:

  • Monitor project budgets, review financial reports, and ensure financial resources are utilized efficiently and transparently.

Risk Management:

  • Identify project risks and develop risk mitigation strategies to minimize potential negative impacts on project outcomes.
  • Resource Management: Optimize the allocation and utilization of resources (financial, human, and material) across projects. Identify resource gaps and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to address them effectively.
  • Reporting line: The incumbent will report directly to the Executive Director and will supervise the project delivery team.

6.) Monitoring and Evaluation Officer

Location: Niger

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support overall management of the MEL system
  • Support the MEL Manager in overseeing and managing the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) system and strategy.
  • Assist in the coordination and maintenance of the new online system for reporting and monitoring of programs, including testing of the system and ongoing refinement as necessary.
  • Assist in the design of MEL procedures, templates and guidelines to support strong national-level reporting.
  • Support the monitoring of the overall implementation of the MEL strategy and online system, and identify gaps or challenges both with regards to the technical components of the M&E system and with regards to the capacity of its users.
  • Assist in entering entry and storing of data to the monitoring database, help in maintaining this as an accessible source of information on program activities, results and (to the extent possible) impact, and ensure data safety and protection.
  • Support capacity strengthening and training of users of the MEL system Assist in the training and capacity building activities relating to MEL, through for example the creation of toolkits, and setting up webinars.
  • Provide support to regional-level data capturing, analysis and quality assurance processes.
  • Support the implementation of quality assurance mechanisms and monitoring checks at the regional
  • level enabling improved capturing and narration of programmatic results and impact.
  • Support monitoring, reporting and evaluation
  • Share information about reporting requirements and timelines, and follow-up projects to ensure timely submission of reports.
  • Support the collection of documentation to validate reports, and carry out regular spot checks.
  • Produce high-quality bi-annual progress report, with support from the HR.
  • All other duties assigned

Requirements

Salary
N120,000 – N150,000 monthly.
