Ekiti Police Storms Forests for Abducted Would-be Couple

The State Police Public Relations Officer, Sunday Abutu, says three suspects have been arrested and detained at the Police Headquarters in Ado Ekiti over the abduction of a couple who were to be officially wedded this weekend. Information Guide Nigeria

PUNCH reports that Sunday Abutu said, “Immediately we got the report, the Commissioner of Police, Babatunde Mobayo, mobilised our men and officers to surrounding forests“.

According to Abutu, the police is working together with Amotekun Corps, local hunters, and vigilance groups in combing the forests to free the victims. Jamb Result

PUNCH reports that the two abducted persons were returning from Ado Ekiti, the state capital, where they had gone to purchase some commodities in preparation for their wedding before they were attacked and kidnapped by gunmen on Sunday along Ilasa Ekiti-Ayebode Ekiti Road in Ekiti East Local Government Area of Ekiti State.

They also added that Sources said the gunmen called their families and demanded N5m as ransom.
