Ben Chilwell
The Chelsea left-back suffered what appeared to be serious hamstring injury during his side’s Champions League win against Dinamo Zagreb on Wednesday night.
This is a serious blow for a player who missed the majority of last season with an ACL injury having just reclaimed his starting position at Stamford Bridge.
The minimum length of time out for such hamstring injuries is generally two to three weeks and his manager Graham Potter was not optimistic in the wake of the injury.JAMB Result
He said after the match: “It doesn’t look positive,” Chelsea manager Potter said after the match on Wednesday. “It’s a blow for us on an otherwise positive evening I think. It’s a blow to see him pull up like that, it’s not a great sight.
“It’s a blow for us and a blow for him and sadly he won’t be the only one who’s affected like that in this period because October was incredibly challenging, the games that we had to play, but it is what it is.”

Since he was forced off, he hasn’t played for Pep Guardiola’s side.
Meanwhile, summer signing Kalvin Phillips hasn’t had the best of starts to life in Manchester. A string of injuries has plagued the early stages of his time at the Premier League champions.
And more recently, he has been sidelined for six weeks with a shoulder injury after City took the decision to send Phillips under the knife.
Phillips established himself as a first-team start for England during their run in the World Cup which saw him become a household name and earn a move across the North West from Leeds.
Speaking prior to their Champions League dead rubber clash with Sevilla (November 1), Guardiola said: “It’s likely, the way they recover [for the World Cup].
“I don’t know the intention for Gareth, but it’s likely. He spoke with the players regularly, with the doctors, and they know exactly better than me. But what I hear in the dressing room, it’s likely they can be ready.”
Bukayo Saka
Bukayo Saka became the latest injury concern as Arsenal thumped Nottingham Forest to return to the top of the Premier League.
The tricky winger has been one of the standout performers for Mikel Arteta as the Gunners have been one of the surprise packages of the campaign so far, going toe-to-toe with Manchester City.
Saka caused some worry as he was forced off during the win over Steve Cooper’s side inside the first 45. On the injury and whether he’d be a doubt for the upcoming tournament, Arteta said (October 30): “Hopefully not. It was a bad kick.
“Right from the beginning he was limping, but I don’t see any further than that. Let’s see how he is in the next couple of days.” As for where he was injured, the Spaniard added: “I think both [foot or ankle]. He got kicked a few times and he wasn’t comfortable.”
Reece James
For James, a knee injury in the 2-0 away win at AC Milan has forced him to endure spells on the sidelines leaving him in angst over his position in the 26-man squad.
Speaking last month, Potter said: “It’s a big miss for us. We’re disappointed he’s out. We are going to have to deal with that and help him get back fit as quickly as we can.
“I spoke to him yesterday. He is disappointed to be out. We are going to have to deal with that and help him.”
