FG’s cash transfers Ongoing – Buhari
The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, says the efforts to eradicate poverty in 1.6 million poor and vulnerable households in Nigeria are ongoing. Information Guide Nigeria
President Buhari made this statement virtually at the opening ceremony of the 14th Annual Banking and Finance Conference of Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria.
The program involves payment of a bi-monthly stipend of N10, 000 per household of which more than eight million individuals are currently benefiting from and 300 billion which has been disbursed to farmers.

As reported by Blueprint, He said the National Social Register of poor and vulnerable Nigerians identified 32.6 million persons from seven million poor and vulnerable households and charged bankers support the improvement of livelihoods. Jamb Results
According to the president, initiatives like the National Social Investment Programme which was the biggest in Sub-Sahara Africa, Anchor Borrowers Programme which made it possible for the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for over 300bn to sponsor 3.1 million farmers with Wheat, Maize, Rice, Cotton, Soybeans, Groundnut, Fish, Poultry, increased cultivation of over 3.8 million hectares of farmland.
Records have also shown that 80% of rice consumed in Nigeria is produced in Nigeria.
Speaking, CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele said N15 trillion infrastructure fund will be launched in October 2021, while innovations like the Nigeria/International Financial will provide a gateway for capital and investments, and digital currency, e-naira, will enhance inclusion.
