Sunday, Ezekwike told journalists that the fire was caused by machines used to smooth completed wood products such as doors and chairs.

While mourning the cost of the destruction, he requested that the state government assist the victims in resuming business operations.
The state’s chief fire officer, Martin Agbili, stated that he dispatched his troops to the area after receiving a call for assistance from the public.JAMB portal
He said, “Around 7.30pm of December 12, 2022, the Anambra State Fire Service received a distress call of a heavy fire at Ogbo Osisi (timber market) Onitsha by GUO Plaza.
“Immediately, we deployed our fire truck and firefighters in the scene. We battled and controlled the fire.
