What is the NIN Tracking ID?

The NIN tracking ID is a string of 15 characters that are issued by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC)—a statutory organization that has received the mandate from the Nigerian government to handle Nigeria’s national identity management—to citizens of the country (Nigerians) which makes it easier to confirm the identity of individuals as no two persons can have the same NIN tracking ID or NIN.

Your NIN tracking ID together with your NIN helps the commission in integrating all the information of legal residents as well as all citizens of the country into a database that’s known as the National Identity Database (NIDB) to aid easy identification. No two persons can have the same NIN or Tracking ID, and an individual’s identity can only be erased from their database only in the event of the person’s death and a death certificate is shown to the commission to prove that the person is actually dead. How to Enjoy NYSC Camp
