Government Should Get Ideas From Private Schools To Improve On Education –Mr Bassey

The principal of Ray-field International schools, Mr John Bassey has called on governments at different levels to get ideas from the owners of private schools in order to restructure the public school system and save it from a future breakdown. Information Guide Nigeria

Bassey said this during the 2021 matriculation/graduation and award-giving ceremonies of the institution with the theme: “The 21st Century Education: A tool in Addressing Emerging Global Issues,” held at the school auditorium, Nsukara Offot Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital.

He also called for more budgetary allocation on education, advising educational authorities to make sure that the curriculum of the private school is in line with the government school.

The Principal added that education in the 21st century is imperative in tackling emerging global challenges, noting that the COVID-19 pandemic which brought about unusual lockdown in Nigeria did not totally stop learning in the private school, as most private schools were able to correlate with students through online classes.

According to Daily Post, in Bassey’s words: “To save education especially in the public school from total collapse, government must make more budgetary provisions to the sector, they should borrow ideas from private school operators, how they teach and mould quality students”. jamb results

“In our school, we introduced so many things in our curriculum; we broke down Mathematics into Algebra, Arithmetic, and Geometry also in English language we broke it down into, Essay, Oral and Grammar so that students can interface with different teachers in different disciplines of same subject and have a full grasp of the subjects.

“Education is going away from theories to practicals, therefore government should equip all the laboratories to match with those in the private schools.”
