Govt Distributes ECOWAS Relief Materials In Jigawa

The Federal Government of Nigeria has started distributing relief materials donated by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to the victims of the 2020 flood, which occurred in 16 states in the Country.

According to The Nation, distribution of the relief materials official started recently in Miga town, Miga Local Government Area. Jamb Results

The distribution was done by the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Hajiya Sadiya Umar Faruk who was represented by Bashir Umar, the ministryโ€™s permanent secretary.

The minister noted that the relief materials included cash and others and informed the people that ECOWAS has engaged Red Cross International to manage the distribution exercise. Information Guide Nigeria

The Nation reveals that the minister said that so far, 1,600 households consisting of over 9,600 people have been given shelter kits while 65 boreholes have been constructed for 896 households and 65 hand-wash points.
