Senator Halliru Jika, chairman of the Senate Committee on Police Affairs, outlined the revenue sources for the proposed budget as follows: 0.5% of the total revenue accrued to the federation account, or N52.569 billion; 0.5% of the total VAT, or N11.720 billion; 0.5% of the Net Profit of Companies in Nigeria, or N1.145 billion; and aids, grants, donations, etc., amounting to N470.250 million.
