What You Garbage In Is What You Garbage Out

It is true that your fishes must eat efficiently in order to grow fast to their full potential. That does not mean that your fish can eat anything, but even if, your fish eat anything, it will not eat anything to grow to a matured size. In other words, If you feed your fish bad, just expect bad reared fish as a result.

Feed  Conversion Ratio f c r

F.C.R simply means, feed conversion ratio. It is considered the underlying sign of profitability of a Farm. It also signal the efficiency of fish.

It however, raises a question as to what quantity of feed do you actually want to give your fish so as to make them get to a certain weight.

It is very important for you to understand this very well and keep to it. Beside, you can on your own research on how to calculate the feed conversion ratio f c r of your fish in your farm.

Prices of the Fish Feed

Some of the prices of fish feeds are actually more expensive than others. But one may ask, whether all the fish feeds offer the same results.

And or is there any comparative advantage a particular fish feed has over the other? For example, suppose you use a feed of about 650n per kg with a result of say, 1.2 feed conversion ratio f.c.r, which is equivalent to 1.2 of 650n, meaning, it is about 780n to have 1 kg of fish.

Again, suppose that you also use a feed of about 200n per kg with feed conversion ratio f.c.r of 2? Invariably, this means that you have used 2 of 200n which is equivalent to 400n to have 1kg of fish, although it involved a little more time.

Now, at this point, you can decide on which of the options is better and profitable? You can then choose from either the 750 or the 400.
