JUST IN: Access Bank Launches Travel Debit Card

Access Bank, a Nigerian-based bank has released a travel debit card for its customers.

According to THE PAYPERS, the travel debit card will be used by Access bank customers to access foreign exchange outside Nigeria. Information Guide Nigeria

THE PAYPERS reports that besides the African Continental Free Trade Area Agreement (AfCFTA), the card was introduced in response to the directives by the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN’s) stating that all deposit money banks (DMBs) fulfil legitimate FX requests for personal travel allowance (PTA) and business travel allowance (BTA).

According to managers of the bank, all legitimate and approved PTAs or BTAs would be credited to the Travel Debit Card for use outside Nigeria effective from Today, 18 October 2021.

THE PAYPERS reports that Access Bank Stated the benefits of the new Debit Card as easy access to international transactions via POS, ATM, and WEB and instant issuance for PTA/BTA requests.

In addition, all unutilised funds remain in the card and can be used for international transactions or subsequent trips and the card is valid for 3 years and can be used for current and subsequent PTA/BTA requests within its validity. Jamb Result

As reported by THE PAYPERS, executives of Access Bank have noted that the Travel Debit Card is slightly different from the bank’s credit card which has different classes and different daily limits.

According to the executives of Access Bank, the travel debit card can be used on POS, Web, and on the ATM unlike the credit cards which can be used on POS and the Web excluded ATMs that are not eligible for international transactions.
