Kano To Establish Anti-Street Begging Organisation To Fight Menace
Kano State government, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, on Wednesday has announced plans to establish Anti-Street Begging Agency in partnership with civil society organisations to check the menace. Information Guide Nigeria
He said this when hosting the amalgamation of civil society organisations in the state.
According to him, an organisation will be put in place with full responsibility to look into the issue of street begging.
He buttressed that street begging is an abuse of children and prevents them from learning the religion and modern education system.

While commending the concern shown by civil society, he assured them that the state government would carry them along for the effective implementation of state policy against street begging. jamb results
As reported by Independence, in his words: “We are happy to receive you and we are thankful for your unrelenting concern. It is true also that, we must evolve a new strategy in dealing with this issue”.
Recall that the organised civil society groups had sent a letter to the governor informing him on the need to collaborate with them in the effective implementation of the government’s Law against street begging.
The letter was sent under the platform of Kano Civil Society Forum, on 23rd September 2021, and entitled, “Urgent Call to Ensure Total Enforcement of the Law Banning Street Begging in Kano State,” and was duly signed by Ibrahim Waiya and Peter Hassan Tijjani.
