Kylian Mbappe stated his desire to leave Paris Saint-Germain after the Ligue 1 club failed to pay his lucrative salary, according to reports. The 23-year-old signed a new deal with the French champions in the summer despite being linked with a move to LaLiga giants Real Madrid, as per dailymail report.
Mbappe’s contract – which keeps him in the French capital until 2025 – takes up a quarter of the team’s entire budget. Mbappe earns £5.21m a month and received a signing-on bonus of £156m – which is payable over three instalments due every July. His deal also includes a loyalty bonus of £60m which will be paid at the end of every season. This will increase by £8.68m for every season he stays at the club.Information Guide Nigeria

The France international was surprised he hadn’t been paid but is said to have given the club the benefit of the doubt. Mbappe reportedly checked his bank account again on October 11 and grew frustrated by the fact he still hadn’t been paid. Therefore, Mbappe told PSG he wanted to leave in July amid significant interest from Real Madrid – who bid £154million for his services in the summer.
The report went on to say that Mbappe received a partial payment a few days later. However, he was still unaware as to when he would receive the full amount. Mbappe’s team pressed PSG on what was going on but they failed to get a solid answer from the Ligue 1 side.
Some said they were having ‘issues with their accounts’ while others cited ‘FFP issues’ as the reason behind the delay.
PSG is now said to have paid the 23-year-old in full. A spokesperson for the club told L’Équipe that Mbappe has been paid his wages and bonuses. When asked about the hold-up, PSG said: ‘like in all clubs, there are sometimes delays due to payment methods.’JAMB Result
