  • Expertly perform cystoscopy and difficult catheterization.
  • Patients should be instructed and educated.
  • Discuss any concerns about follow-up care with patients or family members.
  • Complete all aspects of patient care and assist with the completion of all required documentation.
  • Examine clinical care in light of the evidence-based literature.
  • As needed, provide and document clinical instructions.
  • Assist with clinical training and supervision of medical and allied health students.
  • Deal with community physicians, other health care providers, and community organizations on a regular basis to ensure ongoing comprehensive patient care management.
  • Ensure that CAPA and patient care requirements are met through ongoing education, training, and development.
  • Collaborate with all health care providers, patients, and families to ensure continuity of care.
  • Encourage and maintain positive working relationships with all team members.
  • Provide additional services under the direction and supervision of a Physician in exceptional circumstances, within the clinical competence of the PA.
  • Work within AHS’s Policies and Procedures.
  • Contributes to the effectiveness of the physician by identifying short- and long-term patient care issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending options and courses of action; and implementing physician directives.
  • Interviews patients, performs physical examinations, and obtains, updates, and studies medical histories to determine patient health.
  • Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and laboratory studies, to determine abnormal conditions; interprets test results.
  • Charts in patient and department records to document patient care services.
  • Performs therapeutic procedures such as injections and immunizations, suturing, and wound and infection management.
  • Instructs and counsels patients by describing therapeutic regimens, providing information on normal growth and development, discussing family planning, counseling on emotional problems of daily living, and promoting wellness and health maintenance.
  • Develops and implements patient management plans to ensure continuity of care.
  • Maintains a safe and clean workplace by adhering to procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Adheres to infection-control policies and protocols to protect patients and employees.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by researching existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing compliance, and advising management on necessary actions.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by participating in professional societies, attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks.
  • Provides information, educational opportunities, and experiential growth opportunities to members of the health care team.
  • Contributes to team effort by achieving necessary results.
  • Examine patients thoroughly and discuss their symptoms.
  • Order and analyze x-rays and lab tests for diagnosis.
  • Minor injuries and illnesses should be treated.

  • Medications and immunizations must be administered.
  • Inform patients about appointment times and treatment progress.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation of all patient examinations, diagnoses, and treatments.
  • Physically examines new and established patients, compiles medical data, records medical history, and implements a treatment plan.
  • When indicated, orders appropriate diagnostic studies.
  • Informs patients and families about their treatment plan and medications.
  • Consults with a physician as needed to assess the patient’s condition and treatment.
  • Ensures that medical records and administrative paperwork are completed on time.
  • Monitoring and continuity of care are provided between physician visits.
  • Follows up with patients in accordance with practice guidelines.
  • Notifies the Medical Director or attending physician if a patient does not meet the criteria or is not suitable for outpatient treatment.
  • Supports the patient and family by explaining the procedure experience and providing specific instructions to the patient and family about their role in the outpatient process.
  • Performs within the parameters of specific privileges granted by the governing body and delegated by the Medical Director.
  • Monitors patients and gives medications in accordance with facility policy.

  • Direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment, is provided and managed.
  • Treat injuries and illnesses in accordance with Evidence-Based Medicine guidelines.
  • Maintain a continuous patient flow and avoid long wait times by managing patients thoroughly and efficiently.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and laboratory tests.
  • Minor outpatient surgical procedures like wound closure and management, incision and drainage, and foreign body removal are performed.
  • Instructs and counsels patients on the importance of adhering to prescribed therapeutic regimens. Communicates with patients about test results, follow-up care, and other information.
