Protesters became “aggressive and confrontational towards GMP police,” who were “assaulted with bottles, flares, and safety obstacles,” according to the force.
According to GMP, 36 officers were assaulted in all, with one officer suffering a significant facial injury that necessitated medical care, as well as stewards and security personnel.
