Marchisio calls Roma fans who attacked ref Taylor ‘poor losers’

In the aftermath of Wednesday’s Europa League Final, Claudio Marchisio, a former midfielder for Juventus and Italy, has come out strongly against the Roma fans who attacked English referee Anthony Taylor at the Budapest Airport. Marchisio has labelled these individuals as “poor losers,” expressing his disapproval of their actions.

A few Roma fans attacked the English official at Budapest’s Airport on Thursday, the day after a Europa League Final between the Giallorossi and Sevilla.

Taylor, accompanied by his wife and daughter, made their way home with a sense of trepidation evident on their faces. The PGMOL has issued a strong condemnation of Roma fans for their unwarranted and reprehensible verbal attacks directed at the English official. Juventus icon Marchisio echoed these sentiments in a lengthy Instagram post.

“This is not football; these are not fans, this is only criminality that makes everyone tired. Enough is enough.”

José Mourinho had been highly critical of ref Taylor on Wednesday night, saying the English official ‘seemed Spanish.’ The Special One even waited for Taylor in the car park of the Puskas Arena in Budapest, insulting him.
