Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila of the All Progressive Congress (APC), and who currently serves in the green chambers as the Majority Leader in the House of Representatives, is likely to emerge House of Representative speaker.
The APC spokesman posted this information on APC platform last night. He also revealed that Deputy Speaker position has been zoned to the North Central.
The Spokesman of the party, Lanre Issa-Onilu, said that the decision was reached after an intensive deliberation with the party’s House of Representatives members-elect at a dinner with President Muhammadu Buhari, which was held at the Banquet Hall in Aso Villa.
Hence, Femi Gbajabiamila was officially adopted by the All Progressive Congress as its candidate for the position of the Speaker of the House of Representatives in the 9th National Assembly.
News Agency of Nigeria reports that President Buhari had on Tuesday night hosted all APC House of Representatives members-elect and later went into a closed-door session with them.
The report also had it that, President Buhari had on March 26 also hosted Senators-elect of the APC to a similar dinner at the Presidential Villa.
