Nigerian Govt. Mobilises Quick Response for Collapsed 21-Storey Building

The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development have arranged for the mobilisation of quick response towards rescue operations at the site of the 21-storey building which collapsed yesterday in Lagos. Information Guide Nigeria

In a statement on Tuesday by Sadiya Umar Farouq, the Minister expressed sadness at the occurrence which took place at Gerrard Road, Ikoyi.

Umar also instructed that there should be immediate mobilisation of NEMA team from the Lagos Office to assist with the rescue operations at the site.

According to DAILY POSTS, in Umar’s words: “This is tragic. I sympathize with the Lagos state government and families of people still trapped inside the rubble.

“We have mobilized immediate rescue operations through the NEMA Team from the Lagos Territorial Office to team up with the state SEMA”. jamb results

“We pray that through the rescue operatives still on ground at the site, many of those trapped will be rescued”.
About five persons were pronounced dead in the collapsed high-rise building while many are still feared trapped in the rubble.
