BREAKING: Reps Introduces 6-month Jail Term For Crossdressing In Nigeria
The Federal House of Representatives has introduced an amendment to the Same Sex Prohibition Act with a view to prohibiting crossdressing.Information Guide Nigeria
According to LEADERSHIP, the member representing Toro federal constituency of Bauchi State, Hon. Muda Umar who sponsored the bill seeks to amend sections 4 and 5 of the principal Act.

This clearly states that popular Nigerian crossdressers like Okuneye Olanrewaju, who is popularly known as Bobrisky and James Brown could be affected by the bill, if passed into law.
The 2013 Same-Sex Prohibition Bill which was read yesterday for the first time on the floor was signed into law on January 17, 2014 by former President Goodluck Jonathan despite opposition from the international community, particularly the United States (US) and the United Kingdom (UK).
