Amazon CEO says layoffs will extend into next year

Amazon’s CEO Andy Jassy announced on Thursday that the massive layoffs that began this week will continue into next year. In an internal memo, Jassy stated that on Wednesday, the business informed staff in its electronics and books divisions of impending layoffs.Information Guide Nigeria

He said it also offered some other employees a voluntary buyout offer.“I’ve been in this role now for about a year and a half, and without a doubt, this is the most difficult decision we’ve made during that time (and, we’ve had to make some very tough calls over the past couple of years, particularly during the heart of the pandemic),” Jassy wrote in the memo.
