The 23-year-old former Lille striker has scored five goals for Napoli in just three outings in October, including the hat-trick he scored over the weekend against Sassuolo, despite just recently making a full recovery from an injury that sidelined him for six weeks.
The former Lille player, who was recently ranked the fourth-most productive striker in Europe’s top five divisions, has made 11 appearances for Napoli in all competitions this season, scoring eight goals in total.
In Tuesday night’s Champions League group stage encounter against Liverpool, Napoli was defeated 2-0 as Osimhen was held bare.
Lookman, a fellow countryman, has been on fire for Atlanta ever since he joined from Premier League side Leicester City during the summer transfer window.
For his Seria A team, Atalanta, the 25-year-old has played in twelve games and scored five goals thus far. Curiously, in five appearances in October, four of the goals were scored.
He has been mentioned in EA’s shortlist for the player of the month award as a result of his outstanding play.
Lookman scored for Atalanta against Empoli over the weekend, but on Saturday, when Atalanta hosts Serie A leaders Napoli, he will likely face further challenges and the hardest obstacle yet in Italy when he goes up against Osimhen.JAMB Result
