The Blues’ starting lineup for the assault included the Nigerian international with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Hirving Lozano.

However, it was the home team who went up thanks to a goal from Kevin Lasagna in the 29th minute off of a Koray Gunter assist.

Kvaratskhelia helped Napoli draw even before the ecstatic home supporters’ cheers at the Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi subsided.

After slipping the ball past goalkeeper Lorenzo Montipo from close range, Osimhen gave Luciano Spalletti’s team the lead as the first half appeared to end 1-1.

Gabriele Cioffi’s team improved in the second half because they were unwilling to accept anything less, and Thomas Henry’s goal from a Davide Faraoni cross gave them an equaliser two minutes after the break.

After conceding their second goal of the evening, Napoli launched a mass offensive and grabbed control of the ball. When Piotr Zielinski capitalised on Kvaratskhelia’s assist to defeat goalie Montipo in the 55th minute, it paid handsomely.

Stanislav Lobotka’s goal in the 65th minute gave them a bigger advantage. But this time, Mario Rui was the one who provided the assist.

And with 11 minutes remaining, Osimhen put up super-sub Matteo Politano as the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona giants erupted away from their own goal.

The Nigerian international played for 83 minutes before being replaced by Adam Ounas, while Andre Zambo Anguissa of Cameroon started and finished the seven-goal thriller.

On the opposing side, Cameroonian Adrien Tameze started and finished the match, while Martin Hongla was replaced by Antonin Barak in the 66th minute.

Napoli tops the Serie A standings thanks to a better goals difference, while AC Milan and Ademola Lookman’s Atalanta are in second and third, respectively.

In the Blues’ upcoming league match against Monza at home on August 21, Osimhen will look to keep up his scoring pace.JAMB Result
