Two teams from the same country cannot play each other nor can a team play a team they have already faced in the group stage, which rules out Lille and Manchester City as potential opponents.



The 2019 winners finished top of the ‘Group of Death’ ahead of Atletico, Porto and AC Milan. One of the competition favourites.

Last meeting: The Reds won 3-2 at Anfield in the clubs’ 2018/19 group stage encounter before Paris scored a memorable 2-1 win at the Parc.



The Dutch champions comfortably won their group ahead of Sporting, Borussia Dortmund and Besiktas. Impressive this season, the Amsterdam outfit would be a formidable opponent.

Last meeting: It was the  2014/15 group stage. Paris drew 1-1 in Amsterdam and won 3-1 at home thanks to an Edinson Cavani brace and a Zlatan Ibrahimovic strike.

Last meeting: In the 2020/21 group stage, Paris lost 2-1 at the Parc des Princes on Matchday 1 but secured progress to the knockout stages thanks in large part to a 3-1 victory at Old Trafford.



Group favourites along with Chelsea, the Bianconeri pipped the holders to top spot.
