
PDP MAY LOSE AGAIN – says Okupe
Former Presidential Spokesperson, Doyin Okupe, advised the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) not to present a northerner as their candidate for the 2023 presidential election to avoid being defeated.
Speaking in an interview with journalists in Abuja on Saturday, The former presidential spokesperson noted that major politicians were defecting from the party because of the issue of a northern presidential candidate.

Punch reports that Okupe said the gale of defections in the Peoples Democratic Party can be linked to the upcoming presidential election. Information Guide Nigeria
According to Punch, Okupe stressed, “In 2023, with APC having ruled for eight years with a northern candidate, it will be preposterous, unjust, uncaring and blatant for the PDP to zone the presidential ticket to the north because the arrangement expired the moment our party lost power in 2019. While stressing that it does not make sense for another northerner to serve as president after the current president who is a northerner has served for eight years, Okupe added that southern governors had suggested that the PDP should zone the presidency to the south and their decision should be respected.
