Govs reject sale of power plants, sue FG

The Nigeria Governors’ Forum has rejected the sale of ten power facilities and has filed suit to prevent the Federal Government from privatizing the plants.InformationGuideNigeria

The NGF announced that its attorneys have taken steps to prevent the administration of President Major General Muhammadu Buhari from selling the power plants included in the National Integrated Power Projects.

The Niger Delta Power Holding Company, which is owned by the federal, state, and local governments, is a power producing and distribution company that monitors the NIPPs’ implementation.NYSC Portal 

The 36 state governors, under their chairman, Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State, issued a statement on November 23, 2022, to voice their discontent with the FG’s decision, following a teleconference meeting held on Tuesday.
