La Liga president Javier Tebas insisted that Manchester City be punished for alleged financial violations.
If City is found to have violated more than 100 rules relating to providing accurate financial information, they could face a variety of penalties, ranging from a fine or points deduction to relegation from the Premier League – and even the English Football League. Tebas believes the club should be punished for their alleged actions.

Tebas first raised concerns about City and Paris Saint-sponsorship Germain’s revenue inflation in 2017, prompting an angry response from Manchester City CEO Ferran Soriano and then-Premier League chairman Richard Scudamore.NYSC Portal

Now, Tebas has expressed his frustration with how long it has taken organisers to take action, telling reporters: “It has taken too long. We know there was an alleged breach of 100 articles, so any decisions will have to be adopted accordingly by the Premier League. One of the worst things about financial controls is if you don’t follow or comply with it.”
Tebas also contrasted the English Premier League’s perceived leniency towards the club with La Liga’s tough stance on Barcelona in relation to financial fair play regulations. Last year, Barcelona had to sell a number of assets in order to register new signings such as Robert Lewandowski, Jules Kounde, and Raphinha, and they were unable to sign players during the January transfer window.JAMB Result
