The intractable crisis among the people of the two tribes has led to massive killings and destruction of properties.
Some villages and communities, especially in Wukari Local Government Council of the state, remain deserted following the killings being perpetrated by militias from both ethnic groups.Information Guide Nigeria

Speaking on Saturday in Jalingo, the state capital, the President General of the Tiv Culture and Social Association, Taraba state chapter, Joshua Ayagwa, said: “We are confident that our new governor will resolve the age long crisis between the Tiv and Jukun in Taraba state.”
Citing the Kefas’s military background, he urged his people to support the incumbent Governor.
“My confidence is because of his detribalised nature,” he said, adding that “His detribalised nature and military background has convinced me that the unity among the ethnic groups in Taraba is guaranteed.”NYSC Portal
