The woman said that Bishop Daniels summoned her to his residence on the grounds that she had committed an offense, and that when she arrived, the cleric, who was the only person in the house, raped her.

Following the allegation, two additional former church members asserted that they, too, had been raped by the minister.
The three women filed a report with the FCID and provided statements to the police.
The victim who spoke with our reporter on Monday bemoaned that despite providing evidence, the FCID failed to file charges.
She said, “We reported the case in November 2020 but because the police at the FCID demanded money, I had to abandon the case. I reported the case again in April 2022 and in May, an Investigating Police Officer, Supol Yemi, started investigation. She kept saying she needed time to do it, while she did nothing.

The IPO requested N200,000 to arrest Bishop Daniels but the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Response Team intervened.
“When we visited the FCID in August 2022, the new DCP hastened the investigation and said all the IPO did was rubbish. He started the investigation all over and within a week, the matter was transferred to the legal unit in August 2022.”
The victim said since the case got to the legal department, nothing had been done, alleging that the FCID was frustrating the matter in a bid to pervert justice.
She said, “We know how long court processes take; but the case has not even got to court. The DCP was furious with the way the IPO handled the case and had to detain Bishop Daniels when he saw him so that they could search his house and invite his wife.NYSC portal
“But immediately we travelled back home, we realised that Bishop Daniels was released. Other witnesses that were eager to testify against him have been frustrated.
“I don’t know why this case has not gone to court yet. Despite sufficient evidence against Bishop Daniels, he is walking freely. It has been seven months of having to go over the pain I have been through and yet nothing is coming out of it.”
The spokesperson for the FCID, Lagos, Niyi Ogundeyi, said the matter was no longer with the police.
He said, “The Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecutions requested the file from the legal department. The file is no longer with the police; it has been with the Lagos DPP since October 2022. I have seen the acknowledgement copy.”
The acknowledgement copy, signed by one ACP B Asogwa, was titled ‘Forwarding of case file, Re: alleged rape of victim, allegedly perpetrated by Bishop Daniels: Re: Sexual Violence and Rape.’
It read in part, “I refer to your letter dated October 4, 2022, in respect of the above subject matter and forward herewith the relevant duplicate case file as requested for vetting and legal advice.”JAMB Result
