Currently, on international duty with Spain preparing for their Nations League clash against Switzerland on Saturday, Asensio spoke about the news surrounding his potential move to Barcelona. “Playing at Barcelona? I have not thought about it, I have not valued it. Right now, I can’t give you an answer,” Asensio told COPE, quoted by Madrid Xtra.
“There are many rumors, it’s normal. In 7 months I can play for any club. “I don’t know if Barça want me, many other clubs have come.” He added: “Many friends have told me about the news that Barça want to sign me. I’ve received about 200 messages. There are a lot of rumours and a lot of things we don’t know. In 2023 I will be able to sign with any club because my contract ends.”
