Abia Panel of Inquiry Issues Bench Warrants for Former Chief of Staff and Deputy Chief of Staff

Justice Florence Doruoha-Igwe (Rtd), the Chairman of the Abia State Judicial Panel of Inquiry tasked with recovering Government Property and Funds, has issued Bench Warrants for Anthony Agbazuere and Don Ubani. Justice Doruoha-Igwe (Rtd) adjourned the matter to January 24, 2024, and directed the arrest of Agbazuere for further cross-examination.

Justice Doruoha-Igwe (Rtd) adjourned the matter to January 24, 2024, and directed that Don Ubani be arrested and produced for his defense.

However, Don Ubani expressed his shock at the issuance of the Bench Warrant, stating that he was never invited by the Panel.

“I am shocked to read that a Bench Warrant could be issued on me without ever being invited to a Panel either by writing or even through a telephone call,” said Ubani who also described the arrest order as ‘false propaganda and political witch-hunt’.
