
Despite the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo, the Sub-Saharan African broadcast satellite service DStv has declared that it has no plans to broadcast the 2022/23 Saudi Pro League.
After concluding his tenure in Europe, the 37-year-old Ronaldo headed to Saudi Arabia and signed a contract with Al Nassr that will keep him at the club until June 2025.

Following his announcement as Al Nassr’s most recent purchase and the biggest transfer in the Saudi Pro League, there were rumours that DStv might acquire the league’s television rights.
Joy Sports reports that DStv has refuted the rumours, stating that there are no imminent plans to broadcast the Saudi Pro League, despite realising how significant Ronaldo’s arrival is.

According to Joy Sports, fans anticipated that DStv would repeat the move it made prior to the start of the 2018-2019 season when it purchased the rights to the Italian Serie A following the signing of Ronaldo at Juventus.
